Collaborative faculty-librarian partnerships have proved enormously productive in developing this pedagogy. Dolsy Smith and I have worked together on an approach to database research called “imagining argument,” which teaches students to parse article titles for implied claims, concepts, and approaches. Meanwhile, Cathy Eisenhower and John Danneker have been steadily adding graphic novels to GW Libraries’ collections with student research purposes in mind. I am also deeply grateful to colleagues and friends in the writing programs at George Washington University and Duke University. Finally, I would like to thank this anthology’s anonymous referee for the thorough reading and critique of the essay draft.
